AN INCIDENT AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD
"The abyssal stone is listening... and I am listening to it."
In 1955, marine biologist Ana Clark and pilot Carlos Abreu arrive at the remote C.A.B.O. (Centro Austral de Búsqueda Oceánica) station on Isla Hornos, at the southernmost tip of South America. They expect a fully staffed international research laboratory—instead, they find chilling silence.
Dr. Arthur Norrie lies frozen in grotesque calcification. Theoretical physicist Henrik Nilsson has vanished without a trace, leaving behind boards filled with frantic equations on quantum superposition and time dilation. A violent storm traps Ana on the island as the Pacific Ocean begins to defy natural laws.
With only A.R.C.—an experimental retrofuturistic artificial intelligence—as her guide, Ana must explore the multi-level subterranean facility, the century-old lighthouse, and the derelict research ship Pythéas to decipher the origin of the anomaly before the infection claims her own mind and body.
